Australian owned, designed and supported. Founded in 2010, we have been here longer than the 10-year warranty on our battery, and we are backed by some of Australia’s largest investors, so we are here for the long term.
Empower was founded in 2010 by Ezra Beeman to build an intelligent, distributed electricity grid that decarbonises our energy use economically. The batteries on the market were not flexible enough for a changing grid, or built for Australian conditions, so we built our own.
2010
Our first product launches, a hybrid, grid-interactive solar and storage inverter, 100% made in NSW, certified Australian Made and certified for the Australian market.
Engineering, testing, customer service and administration all work from our Frenchs Forest head office and lab, and we all live and work in the community we serve.
Today
Along the way we have been backed by some of Australia’s largest investors, and won competitive grants from Commercialisation Australia and the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre.
Engineering, operations, customer service and administration all sit in our Frenchs Forest head office and lab. The system is designed from the ground up for our tariffs, our grid and our climate. You always reach a real, local person, never an overseas call centre.
Our manufacturing partner is Australian owned, with factories in Victoria and Malaysia. The ElektroBank 14 is built in Malaysia with final assembly in Victoria. Our first product, the ElektroBank 7, was 100% made in NSW and certified Australian Made, but too costly to compete.
We are working on a way to make our products here again through smarter engineering and manufacturing, so people choose them because they are the best value, not only because they are local.
Our quality management system is certified by ECAAS, a JASANZ-accredited certification body, and audited twice a year.
Empower holds an electrical contractor licence in NSW, so the people who design and support your system are also qualified to work on it.
The ElektroBank is a Clean Energy Council certified solar battery, a requirement for government battery rebates.
Our products are certified by SAA to the necessary Australian and New Zealand electrical standards, including AS4777.2:2020.
