Empower Energy was founded to empower people’s transition to a more reliable, lower cost, zero carbon energy system.
Over the last 5 years, we have developed a uniquely Australian solar, storage, and home energy management solution that delivers the highest return on investment for most Australians, most of the time.
It can not only eliminate your electricity, petrol and natural gas bills, but it can also generate income – all for less than the leading competitors.
Earns More, Costs Less
Maximize Your Battery Savings and Income
Our home energy solution, comprised of our All-in-One, solar PV and storage product, and our Power Stream optimisation service, has been designed from the ground up to maximize your return on investment.
It does this by saving you more per battery kWh than anyone else. How? By first analyzing your usage and available retail electricity offers, and then automatically charging and discharging your battery to maximize your electricity bill savings.
The chart below shows how much your battery can earn per day per kWh under different electricity plans. Wholesale pass-through plans, such as those offered by Amber or Local Volts, can earn 61% more than ToU or 133% more than a flat tariff.
Whether or not your system actually achieves these savings each day depends on your optimisation service. Our service has achieved over 60% of this level, which is more than 70% better than the leading competitor.
While flat and ToU electricity plans allow you to save up to your electricity bill, wholesale pass-through plans allow you to generate income. Our customers have generated up to $510 in income per year, net of plan charges!
Minimize Your Electrification Costs
In addition to earning you the most for your solar-battery, our solution can also minimize your electricity charges for your EV charging and electric water heating.
The graph below shows the lowest daily electricity price by electricity plan. Again, wholesale passthrough plans offer an 89-93% reduction per kWh compared to ToU or flat electricity plans.
The average heat pump water heater uses 1,667 kWhs per year per person, while the average EV uses 2,000 per year in NSW.
An all-electric household with two vehicles could save up to an additional $1,500 on a wholesale plan compared to a flat electricity plan using our solution.
Again, your ability to achieve these savings depends upon your optimisation service’s performance.
Importantly, we are the only Australian product offering 3rd party EV charging compatibility, enabling you to take advantage of our service without replacing your existing EV charger (where compatible, please reach out to check).
Minimize Your Solar + Storage System Costs
We have minimised the cost of our system over the last 5 years and 4 generations of products.
As shown in the graph below, using data from independent expert SolarQuotes, our system costs less per warranted kWh than comparable solar PV + storage systems.
The above comparison includes the cost of any solar PV inverter if not an all-in-one system, but excludes installation and panel costs.
While smaller systems are lower cost in absolute terms, it is important to note that you will pay more per kWh, as shown in the graph below using battery only pricing data from the independent expert, SolarChoice.
If the absolute cost of a solar PV with battery is an issue for you, there are a range of financing options available, including potentially from your own bank. Please reach out to us for more information.
Adding a battery is usually not cost effective, even when installed at the same time as solar PV. Ours is, when combined with the best ToU or wholesale plan available, using our optimisation service.
The Elektrobank 14 can be installed with an existing solar PV system, with or without adding additional solar panels, which will all be automatically factored into our optimisation service.
The Elektrobank 14 can be installed with an additional solar PV inverter, allowing any number of solar PV panels to be installed.
The Elektrobank 14 is the only solar-battery system we are aware of in Australia that integrates with 3rd party EV chargers (e.g. EVSE). Please contact us to confirm your Level 2 charger will be compatible.
Yes, you can install multiple Elektrobank 14s.
Yes, 3rd party VPP operators can manage your Elektrobank 14 using our API. Please contact us to confirm your VPP provider will be compatible.
Active cooling allows reliable performance up to 45°C.
Proven by Deakin University to last well beyond the warranty
Rust-proof aluminum and IP66 rating for all-weather durability
4G backup keeps your system online during outages
Remote updates ensure your system stays current
More kWh capacity for longer backup times and bigger savings
Connects seamlessly with Level 2 EV chargers and water heaters
AI tech helps save up to $500 more per year on your electricity bill than competitors
Prone to failure before the warranty ends, with faster battery degradation, and an enclosure that’s likely to rust or fade
Reduced output in high temperatures, limited capacity that cuts backup time and savings, and often goes offline with your router.
Doesn’t integrate with EVs, other appliances, or new services like Amber, and can’t adapt to changing market offers.
