How does the $2,000 upfront incentive work?
The $2,500 incentive is applied directly to the purchase price of your ElektroBank 14 battery when you join the VPP program, reducing your initial investment.
What does “10% of the year” mean in terms of grid support?
Empower will access your battery for grid support approximately 37 days per year (about 10% of the year) over the 10-year warranty period. During these days, your battery contributes to supporting the energy grid.
Can I leave the VPP program if I change my mind?
Yes, you can exit the VPP program anytime by buying out the remaining balance. The buyout cost will be adjusted based on any VPP payments received and a small program management fee.
Will my battery still provide backup power during grid support days?
You’ll have backup power available 90% of the time based on your settings. However, on the approximately 37 days per year when the battery supports the grid, backup power will be whatever is in your battery at the time of the outage.
What services are included in grid support?
Grid support includes services such as distribution, transmission, generation, and market support, helping to stabilise the energy network during peak times.
Will participating in the VPP increase my electricity bill?
No, grid support will not raise your bill if you’re with one of the participating retailers. The VPP program is designed to save you money and optimise your energy usage.
